Surgery of the Abdomen (Abdominoplasty or "Tummy Tuck")
Abdominoplasty is a custom procedure and is designed to treat abdominal skin, fat and muscle laxity. Generally referred to as a "tummy tuck", abdominoplasty removes and coutours fat and skin from the abdomen. The procedure may also include tightening loose muscles to further flatten the abdomen. Women with abdominal changes due to previous pregnancies can benefit considerably from abdominoplasty, although optimally they should have completed their childbearing.
If you are in optimal good physical shape but are concerned about abdominal fat deposits or loose skin that does not respond to diet or exercise, the procedure can potentially reduce or even eliminate a protruding abdomen. Although abdominoplasty does produce a permanent scar, which can possibly extend from hip to hip, the scar will likely be located below the bikini or bathing suit line or panty line. Dr Saber will plan the location of the scar by making his surgical markings with either the underwear or swim suit bottom that you like to wear, making the scar easily hidden. Abdominoplasty is a custom procedure designed to treat abdominal skin, fat and muscle laxity. The length of the scar varies, depending on the problems addressed.
Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)
Brachioplasty is surgically recontouring the arms or upper arm. The procedure is frequently performed under general anesthesia. Some are candidates for local anesthesia and sedation. In order to remove the unwanted skin (and sometimes fat), an incision is required. Incisions are placed in the most inconspicuous locations. Some require only armpit incisions, other may require an incision that run to the elbow. (back to top)
Buttocks and Thigh Lift
With aging or with weight loss, skin gets loose and flabby as natural elasticity disappears. In women, the tendency may result in large areas of sagging skin, mostly inside the thighs. Thigh lifting is meant to stretch skin back into place, improve contours by making tighter, more attractive thigh and skin. Buttocks likewise may be lifted, and/or augmented with fat to counter the effects of weight loss or aging. (back to top)
Scar Revision
Scar revision is performed to reduce the appearance of scars caused by injury or previous surgery. Scars are by definition permanent, but surgery frequently may narrow, fade and otherwise reduce the appearance of severe or unattractive scarring. This is especially helpful in areas of cosmetic importance such as the face, arms, legs and breasts. There are many surgical methods of scar revision, only some of which may be appropriate for a particular type of scar or its location. They include surgical excision, and techniques as repositioning a scar so that it aligns with the normal skin lines. The effectiveness of scar reduction depends on a number of factors, including the nature of the injury, your body's healing mechanism, the size and depth of the wound, how much blood supplies the area and the thickness and color of your skin.
